Are you planning a road trip with multiple destinations? Whether you’re hitting up multiple cities or exploring different national parks, Google Maps can be a valuable tool for planning your journey. With its customizable features and user-friendly interface, you can easily create a road trip itinerary that includes all of your desired stops. Follow these steps to plan a road trip with multiple destinations in Google Maps.

Create a List of Destinations

Before you start mapping out your road trip, it’s important to have a list of all the destinations you want to visit. This will help you determine the best route and ensure that you don’t miss any important stops along the way. Make a list of all the cities, landmarks, and attractions you want to include in your road trip.

Open Google Maps

Once you have your list of destinations, open Google Maps on your computer or mobile device. If you’re using a computer, make sure you’re signed in to your Google account so you can save your itinerary for future reference.

Add Your First Destination

To add your first destination, click on the “Directions” button in the top left corner of the screen. Enter your starting point in the “A” field and your first destination in the “B” field. Click on the blue “Directions” button to generate your route.

Add Additional Destinations

To add more destinations, click on the three dots in the top right corner of the screen and select “Add destination.” Enter your next destination in the “C” field and click on the blue “Add destination” button. Repeat this process for all of your desired stops.

Rearrange Your Route

If you want to change the order of your destinations, simply click and drag the destination markers on the map to rearrange them. This will automatically update your route and provide you with the most efficient path.

Save Your Itinerary

Once you’re satisfied with your route, click on the three dots in the top right corner of the screen and select “Save directions.” This will save your itinerary to your Google account, allowing you to access it on any device.

Customize Your Route

If you want to make any changes to your route, such as avoiding tolls or highways, click on the three dots in the top right corner of the screen and select “Route options.” Here, you can select your preferred route preferences and Google Maps will adjust your itinerary accordingly.

Share Your Itinerary

If you’re planning a road trip with friends or family, you can easily share your itinerary with them. Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the screen and select “Share directions.” You can then send the link to your itinerary via email, text, or social media.

By following these steps, you can easily plan a road trip with multiple destinations in Google Maps. Make sure to also create a road trip checklist and pack all of your road trip essentials before hitting the road. Happy travels!
