How to create a distribution list in outlook

Outlook is a popular email and calendar management software used by individuals and businesses alike. One of its useful features is the ability to create distribution lists, also known as contact groups, which allow you to send emails to multiple recipients at once. In this article, we will guide you through the steps of creating a distribution list in Outlook.

Creating a Distribution List

To create a distribution list in Outlook, follow these steps:

  1. Open Outlook and click on the “People” icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. In the “Home” tab, click on “New Contact Group” in the “New” section.
  3. A new window will open where you can enter the name of your distribution list and add members to it.
  4. To add members, click on “Add Members” and select the desired option from the drop-down menu. You can choose to add members from your Outlook contacts, address book, or by typing in their email addresses.
  5. Once you have added all the members, click on “Save & Close” to create your distribution list.

Sharing a Distribution List

After creating a distribution list, you may want to share it with others in your organization. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Open the distribution list you want to share.
  2. In the “Contact Group” tab, click on “Forward Group” in the “Share” section.
  3. A new email will open with the distribution list attached as a .msg file.
  4. Enter the email addresses of the recipients you want to share the distribution list with and click on “Send”.
